If you use iMIS, you already know how powerful the platform is. And how quickly it continues to evolve. One of the easiest (and most underutilized) ways to stay current, influence product direction, and get more value from iMIS is by attending the iMIS Sprint Reviews.
iMIS Sprint Reviews are open to all iMIS users and are designed to give you direct visibility into what the ASI development team is building, fixing, and enhancing in upcoming releases.
These aren’t polished marketing or high-level roadmap slides. Instead, the Sprint Reviews are working sessions where developers walk through real changes being made to the iMIS platform and answer questions from users and partners who are actively implementing and using iMIS.
ISG regularly participates in these sessions, and we have found the iMIS Sprint Reviews one of the most practical ways to stay connected to what’s really happening inside iMIS.
What Is an iMIS Sprint Review?
The Sprint Review is a live meeting where the ASI development team shares:
- What they have changed
- What they have fixed
- What they have built
- What’s scheduled for upcoming releases
Sessions can be as short as 15 minutes or run for up to an hour, depending on how much ground the team needs to cover. The tone is very straightforward and technical. You’re hearing directly from the developers who are actually building the software.
This is one of the fastest ways to understand:
- Which enhancements are already live
- What updates you can start planning for
- How new features really work (not just what the release notes say)
Is It Worth Attending Live?
While Sprint Reviews are recorded and archived (so you can always catch up later), attending live brings extra value:
- You can hear the context behind changes
Seeing how developers explain why something was built or adjusted often clarifies how best to use it. - You can ask questions in real time
If you’re struggling with a feature, curious how something applies to your workflow, or just want deeper technical clarity, this is your chance to get answers directly from the source. - You can provide feedback while it still matters
Your comments and questions can influence future enhancements. ASI genuinely listens during these sessions. - You become part of the iMIS feedback loop
The most effective users are those who stay close to product development. Sprint Reviews let you do exactly that.
A good current example is the recent session that covered “Creating custom SQL expressions in Expression Builder.” For power users and reporting-heavy teams, that kind of update alone can unlock major efficiency gains.
How to Access Past Sprint Reviews
All past Sprint Review notes and recordings are archived so you can watch on your own schedule: https://support.imis.com/hc/en-us/sections/360007527251-iMIS-EMS-Sprint-Review-Notes
Look for the section labeled Sprint Review Notes 2025 to see the most recent meeting topics. Video recordings are sometimes posted a few days after the live meeting, so if one hasn’t appeared yet, it’s typically on its way.
How to Get Invited to Future Sprint Reviews
If you’re not currently receiving email invites to Sprint Reviews, you can request to be added to the distribution list. Email either Brad Lindsey or Jeff Spring.
Let Brian or Jeff know that you’d like to be included in future iMIS Customer Sprint Review invites. These sessions are open to both clients and solution providers.
Make Sure You Have Portal Access
To view recordings and detailed release notes, you’ll need a login to ASI’s support portal. If you don’t yet have access, you can request an account.
Don’t Just Watch, Shape the Product
One of the most powerful (and often overlooked) ways to influence iMIS development is through the ASI Enhancement Request portal (no login required): Submit or vote on enhancements.
On this page, you can:
- Vote for enhancement requests already submitted
- Submit new feature ideas
- Track where suggestions are in development
You’ll also see tabs for:
- Other Ideas
- Planned Enhancements
- Launched Enhancements
ASI actively pulls feedback from this platform – and from comments raised during Sprint Reviews – so your voice absolutely matters. It’s worth checking in regularly and voting on improvements that would make the biggest difference for your team.
Sprint Reviews: A Simple Habit That Pays Off
If there’s one habit we’d encourage every iMIS user to adopt, it’s this: stay close to the product.
Sprint Reviews are one of the best low-effort, high-impact ways to do exactly that. Whether you attend live or watch sessions afterward, you gain:
- Faster awareness of new features
- Clearer understanding of how to use iMIS more effectively
- Direct input into future platform development
Over time, that inside knowledge compounds, helping your team run leaner, work smarter, and get more ROI from the software you already own. If you’re serious about making the most of your iMIS investment, Sprint Reviews should be a regular part of your professional calendar.
