ISGweb SharePoint Modules

ISG's add-on modules for SharePoint are delivered as custom website templates designed specifically for different types of association groups.

SIG (Special Interest Group) Workspaces

Mapping of SIG rosters to SharePoint groups – ISGweb automatically maps the membership in iMIS SIGs directly to membership in corresponding SharePoint groups. By synchronizing the systems at the level of groups as well as of users, SharePoint's standard security system can use iMIS-based criteria to enforce access controls to SIG workspaces.
ISGweb communities used to standardize SIG criteria – ISGweb's SharePoint integration is based on mapping SharePoint "groups" to the concept of "communities," as defined in the ISGweb Communities Setup module. This allows associations to track SIG membership within iMIS using membership section codes, committee rosters, demographics, or any other list-defining type of query.
Web 2.0 features – Each SIG workspace site template includes configurable document libraries, discussion forums, blogs, surveys, news feeds, group calendar, document search, and a searchable membership directory.
Private, branded SIG home page – Each SIG is structured as a complete website, anchored by a fully configurable home page, with a full array of content management system tools to manage the SIG's site content.
SIG-specific calendars – SharePoint calendars include direct links to iMIS events, filtered to display only those that are relevant for the SIG, based on criteria stored in iMIS.

Committee Workspaces
Committees Workspaces include all the features listed above for SIG Workspaces, as well as features that are needed by the more highly interactive, collaborative culture of association committees.

Committee Roles – Deeper integration with iMIS lets SharePoint distinguish between committee officers and regular members when needed.
Leadership directory – Each Committee Workspace includes the ISGweb Leadership Directory, automatically selecting the appropriate committee members for the workspace.
Voting and nominations – Customized, rules-driven survey forms are integrated with iMIS to allow committee members to submit nominations for positions, and then to vote on a slate of candidates. Each ballot can be configured differently by the committee leadership as needed. Because data is drawn directly from iMIS, voting members can preview a full profile of each candidate, including history of activity in the work of the association.
Document workspaces and workflows – When a committee is tasked with preparing an official document, such as a set of bylaws or industry standards, it often requires a project team to collaborate in finding resources, compiling texts, editing, and other coordinated efforts over time. A document workspace provides the designated team with a private website where it can track tasks, milestones, resources, announcements, comments and other shared lists. Automated workflows can be configured to alert team members of action items and developments, route documents through the team for approval and feedback, update the task list based on completion of certain online actions and move the completed document to a public library when finalized.
Wikis – Wikis are web pages that can be worked on collaboratively by a pre-authorized group of team members.
Committee meeting workspaces – The ISGweb Committee Workspace module includes a series of automatically generated workspaces dedicated to supporting collaboration within each of a series of scheduled meetings. Each meeting workspace includes a web part for announcements, attendees, agendas and minutes, and shared references.
