ISG Solutions Releases ISGweb Version 2.1;
Deepens Integration between iMIS and SharePoint
Introduces Four New ISGweb Modules: Framework for SharePoint and iMIS,
Group Directory, Nominations and Voting, Subscriptions
Rockville, MD (August 15, 2008)ISG Solutions announced the release of version 2.1 of ISGweb for
iMIS, its
suite of data-driven web modules for associations. The new version includes four
new modules that significantly extend the integration between the iMIS
association management software and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS
2007), making it possible to view and update information in iMIS directly from
SharePoint.
ISGweb Framework for SharePoint and iMIS provides authentication and security
inside SharePoint based on iMIS data. It streamlines the process of defining
groups and workspaces inside SharePoint based on constituent groups stored in
iMIS. It offers a global documents library that functions across workspaces.
Association staff are provided with a secure site where system administrators
can manage iMIS-defined groups, run usage reports and monitor the contents and
activity of all SharePoint workspaces, as well as a personalized portal for
staff liaisons who are in charge of working with committees and coordinating
their work in SharePoint.
ISGweb Group Directory provides a searchable directory for different types of
membership groups, such as local chapters or federated societies, that is
accessible from their own website. Any directory search performed by the user is
automatically limited to the universe of members in the group defined by the
site context, so the association does not have to create different custom
directories for each group.
ISGweb Nominations and Voting draws data about individuals from iMIS to populate
fully customizable nomination forms and automatically generate ballots. The
nomination and voting forms can be deployed as part of the public website to
collect input from all members, while the administrative forms can be protected
for use by nomination committee members and staff only. Voting results are
stored in iMIS, so there is a record of which nominees reached the required
threshold for approval.
ISGweb Subscriptions allows members to sign up for new subscriptions, chapters
and membership sections, and be billed the way iMIS normally processes
subscriptions, without having to resubmit a membership application.
"Associations have embraced SharePoint enthusiastically because it provides a
powerful way to support collaboration among members and volunteers, staff and
the board. But without full integration to the association's member database, it
is only a partial solution," said Charles Oakley, CEO of ISG Solutions. "By
delivering these new ISGweb modules that make the vast amount of information
associations have stored in iMIS available to SharePoint, we can make SharePoint
a much more powerful tool."
ISGweb Version 2.1 also includes features that deliver more seamless integration
with association websites, including the ability to autofit ISGweb pages and
forms into the website's pages, removing the need for any scroll bars.
"The improvement in the user interface is phenomenal," said Phil Varady, vice
president of ISG Solutions. "ISGweb now provides a completely integrated user
experience—it looks like the association has one website that can do absolutely
everything."
Other enhancements in Version 2.1 include making it easier to set up and modify
communities based on groups defined in iMIS (in the ISGweb Communities module),
and several scripts designed to protect ISG clients from the recent flurry of
SQL injection attacks.
ISGweb for iMIS is a software suite of data-driven web modules for
associations with an intuitive solution for members' interactive online
activities, from e-commerce to collaboration, all powered by real-time
integration to the iMIS association management software. The three core modules
are required: Login Web Service & Create Account, View & Update Profile, and
Administrator. eCommerce modules include Subscriptions, Donations, Dues Renewal,
Chapter Dues Processing, Events Calendar, Meeting Setup & Registration,
Membership Applications, and Product Catalog. SharePoint & iMIS modules include
the Framework, Board Workspaces, Chapter Workspaces, Committee Workspaces,
Meeting Attendee Workspaces, Meeting Planners Workspaces, and Speaker
Workspaces. Other modules include Buyers Guide, Company Management, Find A
Professional, Group Directory, Leadership Directory, Membership Directory, and
Nominations and Voting.
Pricing and Availability
ISGweb Version 2.1 is shipping now. The upgrade is free to users that have
current maintenance and support contracts. ISG clients can also take advantage
of discounted pricing for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS 2007), if
they want to take advantage of the full SharePoint Server functionality in
addition to any of the ISGweb SharePoint Workspaces.
With ISGweb, modules can be purchased in the traditional way and installed on
an association's own network, or obtained on a subscription basis, called On
Demand or Software as a Service (SaaS), and accessed over the Internet. In
either case, ISGweb pricing is based on the number of users and the modules
used. Implementation costs are billed separately, at a flat rate per module.
