ISG Solutions Releases SharePoint-based Collaboration Modules for ISGweb
Online workspaces serve as communications hub and productivity center; help
committees, councils and SIGs work together more effectively
Rockville, MD (January 31, 2008)ISG Solutions announced the release of two
collaboration modules for ISGweb for iMIS : one for committees, the other for
special interest groups (SIGs) and councils. The new modules offer
ready-to-deploy websites configured specifically for the needs of each type of
association group, with pages and features needed to support
association-specific processes. The modules are built on top of Microsoft Office
SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 and take advantage of the powerful collaboration
and communication capabilities it offers, as well as its document management,
workflow automation, and website administration features.
The ISGweb Committee and SIG modules provide association groups with
real-time access to centralized online tools that allow them to communicate,
coordinate their efforts, share resources, and collaborate on projects using the
same Microsoft Office tools they are already comfortable with. Each group is
provided with an online workspace that includes configurable document libraries,
discussion forums, blogs, surveys, news feeds, group calendar, document search,
and a searchable membership directory. The workspace is effectively a complete
website, with a fully configurable home page and content management tools to
help manage the site's content. ISGweb's integration with iMIS allows automatic
mapping of the members in each group from iMIS to the corresponding SharePoint
group. Events and other data stored in iMIS are also brought into SharePoint
automatically, ensuring that information is up-to-date and minimizing the amount
of time spent maintaining the online workspaces.
"We have seen a lot of excitement around SharePoint in the association
community," said Terrie Noonan, president of ISG Solutions. "Now with ISGweb we are
making it easy for associations to start taking advantage of its powerful
collaboration capabilities to revolutionize the way members, staff, the board
and volunteers work together. By allowing everyone to focus on the work at hand,
rather than the many issues involved in collaborating with a distributed group,
members and staff can get more done and enjoy the time they spend involved with
the association and its mission."
ISGweb for iMIS is a software suite of data-driven web modules for
associations with an intuitive solution for members' interactive online
activities, from e-commerce to collaboration, all powered by real-time
integration to the iMIS association management software. The three foundation
modules are required: Unified Login & Create Account, Update Profile, and
Administrator. The other modules, which can be subscribed to individually,
include Communities, Membership Directory, Leadership Directory, Buyers Guide,
Find a Professional, Company Management, Membership Application, Dues Renewal,
Events Calendar, Meeting Setup & Registration, Product Catalog, and Donations.
Additional collaboration modules are in development, including modules for
chapters, meetings, the board, and accreditation.
Pricing and Availability
The ISGweb Committee and SIG modules are shipping now. The modules can be
purchased in the traditional way and installed on an association's own network,
or obtained on a subscription basis, called On Demand or Software as a Service (SaaS),
and accessed over the Internet. In either case, ISGweb pricing is based on the
number of users and the modules used. Implementation costs are billed
separately, at a flat rate per module.
